Field trip was a success!!! We toured the Makoshika Visitor Center, took a few short hikes, and gained some amazing knowledge from Chris, Tom, Johnna, and Robert. We then went and spent some time with the extremely nice ladies at the Frontier Museum in Glendive. Everything from Dinosaurs to Atl atl hunting to Rangeland to Pioneer days were covered. Thank you to the Circle School for being so awesome to work with 🙂

Welcome aboard!
The Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge (CMR NWR) Community Working Group will meet on August 25th in Fort Peck at the Fort Peck Interpretive Center from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. Join us as we finalize our work plan for the group in 2016 followed by updates on the Montana Sage Grouse Conservation Plan, the CMR CWG’s Conservation Menu, and potential research projects in the area. Lunch is available for $10.00. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input as the group seeks to influence the vitality and sustainability of the 6-county region surrounding the CMR NWR. Approximately 20 people gathered at an established insectary in Grass Range to collect bio-control leafy spurge flea beetles. After 3 hours of sweeping, we collected over 180,000 insects. Thanks to Melissa Maggio, State Bio-Control Coordinator & Brady Cannon, Fergus County Weed Program Superintendent for arranging this collection day.
